Spring is Here!

The past couple of weeks have been full of everyday adventures including spring's arrival, the flu, family, firsts and birthdays.  Here are some highlights from the Estes house...

Church is always more fun with family buddies to cuddle with! James thinks Uncle Richard is his very best buddy...

Nicholas has learned to grasp his raddle and play with toys. Life is so much more interesting with something to stare at.

I had my own little leprechaun visit my bath for my birthday!  James has a beard just like his Daddy.

Nicholas is eating real food now.  Apples are his favorite and he likes almost any fruit.  He'll eat most of the vegetables but he HATES peas.

We all got the flu at the Snider/Estes household.  It was a miserable week filled with lots of television and pillows.

The many faces of Nicholas avoiding nap time...

My boys all surprised me with brownies in bed for my 31st birthday!

Spring has arrived and James got to break out of the house.  We went to the park to celebrate Mommy's birthday...

Daddy spent his morning rocking Nicholas to sleep on the outside swing.  We're so happy for Spring!

Daddy had a "chest pain" scare this past week so we spent the night in the Kettering Emergency Center.  Daddy still has his charm even when he's feeling awful.  Blessedly, everything turned out fine.

Nicholas isn't the only little one in the Estes Household who tries to avoid naptime.  The difference is that this one can hide...

Through the Eyes of a Child

James and Grammie love to cuddle in bed and watch short videos about dogs that they find on Facebook and YouTube.  The other day Grammie found a video about two dogs sharing an ice cream cone at the drive thru:

We all watched the original video and thought, "Huh...that's cute."  Then came a house full of loud and boisterous toddler laughter...

Life is so much more fun through the eyes of a child...

Everyday Normal... or not...

Matt always gets on me because my excuse for not updating the blog is that "nothing is really happening."  Turns out, our every day life seems to be its own kind of entertainment.  Here are some highlights from the past few weeks:

Cousin Addison had her first birthday, and she loved the cake!
Turns out hot pink and purple icing are messy for the "big kids"
too...
Nicholas has decided it is his life goal
to resist sleeping.
James likes to go grocery shopping with
Mommy.  His most important job is to
be the receipt holder and show the door
attendant our receipt as we leave.  He keeps
the receipt in his hands the whole day long!
James loves spending time in "family bed" with Grammie & Poppy.
Every time I announce bedtime, James runs upstairs to their room,
slams the door shut and hides under the covers.
James spends his day toting around all
of his Thomas & Friends toy engines
in the small apple bag from his Grandma.
Every time we put them in the bag he
sings their names. One of the trains is named
James. Our James sings the engines name without
a problem, but when you ask him to sing his
own name he says he can't.  The viewpoint of a
toddler...
Do you see that small ball of pajamas on the couch? James loves
cuddling on the couch and watching Poppy's winter village.  It is
the most quiet he ever is!  All you hear is a soft
"Hi Choo-choo! Bye Choo-choo!"

James Aunt Lizza gave him his favorite
pajamas for Christmas.  Now that he is too
big for them he is even more determined
to wear them any time he can find them.
Mommy has yet to find an effective
hiding place...

Nicholas and Larry are the best of friends!
Every time Nicholas starts crying,
James runs to make sure he has Larry.
In James mind (and Nicholas') puppies
make everything better.
James has tried to climb out of his crib
several times but he is terrified of the
drop.  Instead, James' new way to protest
naptime is to take off all his clothes.
We are very tired of winter, but Poppy and the cousins
came over to make it a bit better by building
an awesome snowman!

Nicholas is getting great at holding up his head.  He is defeating
Tummy Time!
