School Spirit Week

The boys attend a preschool called Children's Learning Adventure. It is truly like the Disneyland of preschools. James not only attends his regular preschool class, he also gets to participate in art class, cooking class, bowling, gym class, gardening, science class and recess. Nicholas even gets to do art class with the other babies!

In June the boys celebrated the coming of summer with a Spirit Week. They weren't necessarily sure what they thought about it, but I thought it was fabulous! It is so much more fun to dress your kids for Spirit Week than it ever was to do Spirit Week myself. Plus, I get the fun of dressing them up and figuring out the outfits without the stress of looking silly!

Monday: Crazy Hair or Wear a Hat Day

There was zero chance I would get Nicholas to

wear a hat and keep it on, so we spiked his hair

crazy with some hair gel. He just thought it was weird,

but everyone else loved it!

James doesn't have enough hair to spike silly, so he

chose to wear his engineers cap from EnterTRAINment

in West Chester.

Tuesday: Miss Match Crazy Day

James actually chose his own miss match,

crazy outfit. It doesn't look nearly as crazy as

it was. He was so glad that he actually got

to fully chose his own outfit.

Nicholas got to be in a crazy outfit with a silly shirt.

He was pretty handsome.

Wednesday: 80's Day

When you have little girls, 80's day is so much easier. Just put some bright colored tights, neon colored shirts, a big skirt and a scrunchie in their hair and you are set. Boys aren't so easy...

Nick was a little easier... we spiked his hair in a

fake Mohawk, put him in some overalls and

put him in a polo shirt with the collar up. He thought

it was really fun to touch his spiky Mohawk.

Thursday: Pajama Day

It's pajama day and so much fun! Of course

we must wear our minions hat if we are going

to wear pajamas.

Nicholas was pretty happy in his pajamas. He's

a big fan of dressing casual, so this was his perfect

day!

Friday: Sports Day

For sports day, I dressed Nicholas in a baseball outfit and James in a soccer outfit. The great irony of that is that James wants nothing to do with soccer, but loves baseball, and Nicholas thinks the soccer ball is great. I can't win! This was a pretty easy day though since I have boys...

Happy 3rd Birthday James!

We seem to have a tradition in our family that we move for James birthdays. This year was no exception. In honor of his third birthday and his love for everything minions, we celebrated in full minion style. It worked perfectly since it was the Minions "third movie birthday" as well! With family/friends surrounding us and lots of excitement, James has a blast!

FOR HIM! The rest of us just got a small cupcake.

couldn't quite figure out how they got there...

JJ loves chicken nuggets and mac n' cheese.

Instead of torturing the rest of us with this dinner,

we bought J his own special tv dinner to eat.

The rest of us ate grown-up food and celebrated

with Hawaiian Haystacks. Thanks to Daddy for

reminding Mommy that the toddler won't care

if the rest of us are eating the same dinner... :)

J was so excited to blow out the candle that we

had to light it a couple times before we could

actually keep it lit long enough to sing.

This was his stance through the whole birthday

song. He was very excited that he could blow out the candle!

James couldn't quite believe that he got the whole

cake just for him...

Everyone else enjoyed the cake and ice cream too!

Thank you to the Bahr Family for hosting our birthday

party! It's so nice to have "family" close by to celebrate with.

Nick thought J's birthday was a great day...

Bubbles, a baseball and bat, "Cars" cars, a book,

puzzles and more... it was a good day!

It didn't take long for him to understand how to

tear off the wrapping paper.

Happy Mother's Day

Mommy went out of town to visit an office in San Antonio the week of Mother's day. It was nice because she got a couple good nights sleep, but she sure did miss her boys. When the boys picked me up from the airport on Friday, they had Mother's Day surprises for me! We celebrated all weekend long! I was spoiled...

JJ's school hosted a "Mommy's Tea" to

celebrate Mother's Day. We ate chocolate

chip cookies and drank lemonade. It was

fabulous!

The boys are all dressed up for church!

The boys were very helpful when they picked

me up from the airport. JJ and Daddy carried

my suitcase all the way to the car.

When we got home from the airport, the boys

surprised me with a Boston Crème Pie, cards

and presents. It was so much fun!

They even decorated!

Casa Bonita

As a kid my parents used to take us to this fun Mexican restaurant close to Boulder, CO called Casa Bonita. Every time we drove to Utah to visit relatives, we would stop to eat. Casa Bonita is a fun Mexican restaurant with fun food, cliff divers, entertainers, musicians, video games, puppet shows and more. After a chaotic week we decided we needed a fun family night out. Casa Bonita was the choice of the evening!
